Provide liquidity

Provide USDG liquidity to power Vanta markets and earn from trading activity. LP returns come from protocol fees and trader PnL, so returns are variable and liquidity providers can also experience losses.

The vault is empty, so leveraged trading is closed. Positions settle against this vault, and they can only open once it holds USDG. The first deposit opens trading.

Where LP returns come from
  • You receive vUSDG shares. Your claim is the share price, not a fixed balance: every USDG that enters the vault lifts it, every USDG that leaves lowers it.
  • Three things pay into the vault: the 0.08% fee on every position opened, the 0.08% fee on every position closed, and the realised losses of traders who close or get liquidated underwater.
  • One thing pays out of it: trader profit. The vault is the counterparty to every position, so a winning trader is paid from vault assets and the share price falls. LPs can lose money.
  • Opening a position reserves vault liquidity to cover its maximum payout. Reserved liquidity cannot be withdrawn until those positions close, and total reserves are capped at 0% of vault assets so some liquidity always stays free.
  • LP returns are variable. Vanta publishes no APY or APR because there is no fixed rate to publish, and past trading activity would not predict future returns.
